The rumor running around campus is that coca cola has won the bid to exclusive soda rights on campus here at the University of Rhode Island. I have heard from a reliable source that at the very minimum coke has control over the Memorial Union, however they didn’t know the extent of the deal, like how long the contact is, or whether it affects the whole camps. This is a major change, because Pepsi has been in control of the campus for longer than I can remember (this being my fifth year at URI). The contract takes affect on January 1st, so when we all get back from break, we will see what happened. The one thing I would love to see is for coca cola to bring their freestyle machines to the dining halls. I will certainly be keeping an eye out for the changes over break as I will be working on campus for a bunch of it.
Well almost one week later the new LCD for my laptop came in. That was an expensive lesson, don’t use the tables on the CS department chairs in the lounge. Now I just have to install the new LCD in my computer (Lenovo ThinkPad T500) and it’ll be back in working order. Once I do that my development will be back on track. I will start off by testing out to make sure all the bukkit permission system code was successfully added, and if it was I will release v. 1.8.1, which will include that (because I forgot to merge it in 1.8.0), and some bug fixes for the commands from the console (though /clear * is still throwing an odd error that makes no sense).
Well as of today I now have a new home, I am moved out of my fathers basement and am living just off of campus at URI. I won’t have the best of internet, but it will suffice, if I need good internet, I can just go to work or the CS department and use theirs lol. Hopefully now I can focus a little more on my work programming…. I doubt it.
